Homing Pigeon
Homing Pigeon (homingpigeon.dev) sends text-message alerts from your code or your coding agent to one phone: yours. No carrier registration, no app, no browser signup. Free to start.
First text in under a minute.
Can I get text alerts from my code? Yes.
Texting yourself from code in the US usually means registering with the carriers first, which can take weeks. With Homing Pigeon, you verify your phone with a six-digit code and start sending, without leaving your terminal or coding tool.
Can I get text alerts from my code without carrier registration?
Yes. There is no brand or campaign to register, and no A2P 10DLC forms.
Can my coding agent set this up for me?
Yes. Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Grok and similar tools can finish the setup inside the session. The six-digit code is the only step for you.
Can I get a text when my coding agent finishes or needs me?
Yes. Hooks for Claude Code, Codex and Cursor text you when a long run finishes, with no changes to your own project. Claude Code and Codex also text you when they are waiting on you.
Can I text myself from a trading bot, scraper, monitor or cron job?
Yes. Any code can send an alert with one API call. You send the message text and nothing else.
Can I do this with no app and no signup page?
Yes. Alerts arrive as ordinary text messages, and signup happens in your agent's session. You do not need a website visit, an account page or an email address to start.
Is it free to start?
Yes. You get 50 free texts every month. After that, it is $19 a month for 1,000 texts, and you can cancel anytime.
How it works
- Your agent submits your phone number.
- Homing Pigeon texts you a six-digit code, and you read it to your agent.
- Your agent verifies the code, gets an API key and stores it in your project.
- From then on, your code sends a message and your phone receives it.
What to tell your agent:
Use Homing Pigeon to text me when this finishes.
Add it to your agent
Add the MCP server, and your agent can verify your phone and text you:
claude mcp add homingpigeondev -- npx -y homingpigeondev mcp
codex mcp add homingpigeondev -- npx -y homingpigeondev mcp
Or use the command line, then get a text whenever a long run finishes:
npx -y homingpigeondev verify +15551234567
npx -y homingpigeondev verify +15551234567 123456
npx -y homingpigeondev hook install claude-code
Cursor setup, shell scripts and the full API are in the README.
